On Saturday 23 September 2017, Högsbo Basket opened a new season at Gothia Arena. There were two games, a new wooden floor, a mascot that would be named at half-time and the club's youngest players on court during the break. We photographed the whole day and delivered a selection sorted by game. A club is more than its first team, and the photos show all of it: the players, the coaches, the youngest and the crowd.
The day
The invitation promised a lot: come and see the new wooden floor at Gothia Arena, meet the mascot Högsbo Lejonet, watch the club's youngest players play a game at half-time, with music and a party atmosphere.
We wanted to capture that atmosphere, not just the baskets. Here is a selection from the day: the women's team, the mascot, the men's team and what happens after the final whistle.

The club's new mascot was named at half-time in the women's game, just as the invitation promised. The lion was there all day.
After the final whistle
How we worked
- The whole day, not just the games: the warm-up, the introductions, half-time, the crowd and what happens after the final whistle.
- The whole club: the women's team, the men's team, the youngest players, the coaches and the mascot. A club that shows all its teams shows that it's there for everyone.
- A sorted, edited selection: the photos were delivered sorted by game, so it's easy to find the right picture for the right team.
